Stop by and help the City of Charlotte determine the best way to add sidewalk and bikeway connections along Independence Boulevard from Briar Creek Road to Mason Wallace Park and Campbell Creek Greenway. Using $8 million in capital funds from bonds, the City’s Independence Area Sidewalk and Bikeway Improvements (ISB) program calls for several elements to make this area more pedestrian-friendly, improve mobility and add connections. As part of the ISB program, this project seeks to study pedestrian and bicycle improvements that will improve connectivity to schools, services and retail; connect other significant pedestrian and bicycle networks; and provide safe alternative routes for pedestrians and bicyclists.
